Roullete (French for “wheel”) is a casino game where a ball rolls around a wheel and players make bets on which number or groups of numbers the ball will land in as it comes to rest. The bets are made by placing chips on a betting table that correspond to the compartments of the roulette wheel. The game emerged in Europe in the late 18th century. After the betting period begins, the dealer spins the wheel and then releases the ball into one of the compartments. The ball will stop in a compartment that has been designated as the winner. The winning bets are collected by the dealer and paid out, while losing bets are removed from the table and returned to the player.
